Hoover UH60010 WindTunnel Bagless Vacuum Review

!±8± Hoover UH60010 WindTunnel Bagless Vacuum Review

The Hoover UH60010 vacuum cleaner is popular with consumers and offers several excellent features. It is self-propelled, bagless, comes with a HEPA filter, and according to consumers its patented WindTunnel technology does an outstanding job of dirt removal.

Features
The Hoover UH60010 features a DirtFinder system that indicates when a given area requires additional cleaning. The system displays a green light when an area is clean, but the light turns red when a dirty area is encountered. Once the dirty area has been cleaned sufficiently the light once again turns green. Consumers seem to like the system. The vacuum also has a motorized brush roll that effectively lifts dirt from the thickest of carpets. The brush roll can be turned off for cleaning bare floors or delicate rugs.

The UH60010 model comes with a generous 31 feet of power cord, a powerful 12 amp motor, and a headlight. Also included are a handheld pet hair removal tool, a dusting brush, an upholstery tool, a crevice tool and two extension wands. Fingertip controls are integrated into the handle of the vacuum and it has a fairly wide floor cleaning width of 15 inches. The 11 inch x 16 inch footprint also makes for relatively easy storage.

Pros and Cons
Consumer reviews for the Hoover UH60010 are almost uniformly favorable, and even though the unit is somewhat on the heavy side at 22 pounds, almost all consumers feel that the self-propelled feature generally makes up for the weight. The retractable cord is seen by many as a nice feature and most consumers also praise the vacuum's ability to pick up pet hair. The UH60010 has been constructed with easy maintenance in mind and there are a number of comments indicating that the vacuum is indeed simple to take apart for cleaning and maintenance. Consumers also like the easy empty feature of the dirt canister, citing that it is simple to remove and empty.

Negative comments are few but there are some related to the plastic construction and parts used in the vacuum, especially the power switch assembly and the accessories cover. There seems to be a fear that elements of the vacuum are fragile and will break easily, however in the consumer comments reviewed no-one had actually experienced any breakage issues. Also, a few comments alluded to the UH60010 not having the suction power of older Hoover bagged models. However, most consumer comments indicated that the machine has adequate suction.

Price Range
The list price for the Hoover UH60010 model is 9, though it can usually be found for less. Sears for example lists it at about 0 and the vacuum can be purchased at Amazon for even less, making this popular and highly rated model a good buy.

Summary
The reasonable price range of the Hoover UH60010 plus the nearly uniform favorable consumer reviews make this model an attractive vacuum cleaner for those looking to buy. Perhaps the only drawback is the fact that it is a bit on the heavy side. Several consumers also make the point that the UH60010 is much less expensive than a Dyson but does an equally good job.
